Shone Hicks/Owner, was present and assisted with today's visit. Your program currently operates with a four-star license, issued 8/21/2019, earning 7 points in the education component, 2 points in the program standards component and 1 quality point for serving no more than 2 infants under age 1. The last annual compliance visit was completed on 8/21/2025. The last fire inspection was conducted 7/21/2025. I searched you Shone Hicks/Operator and Michael Hicks (husband) in the Case Worker Assist and no information was found. You stated that the facility information was still the same. I completed a general walk through of the family child care home and observed spaces used for child care and the outdoor space. Six (6) children was present during the visit. Child were observed free choice playing, circle time, reviewing ABC teacher-directed, playing with blocks, eating a morning snack, eating lunch, and handwashing and toileting procedures. Morning snack consisted of grapes, and milk. Lunch consisted of bologna and cheese sandwich, sweet peas, sliced apples, wheat bread, and milk. Caregiver interacted with children in a positive and nurturing manner. The following violations were documented today: Violation Number Comment Rule 1847 A child care operator did not notify the Division of any new child care providers, as defined in G.S. 110-90.2(a)(2), who were hired or moved into the child care facility within five business days. Operator and household members are not linked in the CBC provider portal. G.S. 110-90.2 & .2703(r) The violation(s) documented must be corrected immediately. On or before July 10, 2026, I must receive a written, dated, and signed compliance letter that describes accurately and in detail how and when the violations were corrected. Please be aware any information submitted by you is considered legal documentation. If it is determined the information provided in the letter is not true, this may be considered falsification of information. STAFF RECORDS: Your staff records was reviewed and was current. CHILDREN RECORDS: Children records were reviewed and in compliance. We reviewed and discussed the status of pathway 2. You are currently searching for a curriuclum. You shared the Family and Engagement and you are on the right track with the information that I reviewed. I encouraged you to go ahead and choose a approved curriculum and formative assessment to ensure transition will be completed by December 2026.
