D. Wilkins, operator assisted me with the visit. Your program currently operates with a four-star license, issued 9/15/23, earning 7 points in the education component, 2 points in the program standards component and 1 quality point for infant capacity restricted to no more than two children under one year of age. Your program was also monitored for compliance with implementing an approved curriculum as required for all four and five star licensed facilities where four-year-old children are enrolled. The last annual compliance visit was conducted 6/26/25. The center's compliance history was reviewed with the operator. The program’s compliance history was ninety-nine percent as of 5/27/26. We reviewed your facility contact information listed on the Division of Child Development and Early Education (DCDEE) website and all information is current. Contact me if you need to make any changes to your contact information, e.g., phone numbers, mailing address. I visited indoor and outdoor spaces. When I arrived you and your son were present in the home, no children were present. Later I observed the arrival of one child four years of age. You transitioned to the space designated for child care. You engaged in back-and-forth conversation with the child about plants and gardening. Lunch was observed and included round steak, baked beans, pineapples, sliced bread, and milk. The following violations were documented. Violation Number Comment Rule 930 Prior to the expiration date of the qualification letter, the child care provider did not complete and submit required forms to complete a criminal background check (a qualification letter is valid for a maximum of five years from the date of issuance). Your qualification letter expired on 11/17/25, a new letter was on file date 12/29/25. G.S. 110-90.2 & .2703(n) & (o) 2017 The operator did not review the EPR Plan with additional caregivers prior to them caring for children and/or on an annual basis. The EPR plan was reviewed on 1/6/25 and 2/11/26. The child sat at a child sized table in the kitchen, you served the child froot loop cereal and strawberries. While the child at breakfast you engaged in conversation with the child, asked the child open-ended questions and focused on the child’s language development. The following violations were documented.
