The last annual compliance visit was conducted on 2/17/2025. An Annual Compliance Monitoring Checklist for FCCH checklist was used to note the requirements I monitored today. The facility has an 18-month compliance history of 96% as of 2/3/26. The facility operates with a one-star license issued 10/11/17. Criminal Background checks for the operator and her husband are current. Upon arrival I was greeted by Anita Krietemeyer. Mrs. Krietemeyer, Owner/Operator, and six children were present during today’s visit. The owner/operator stated she used the battery- operated smoke detector to activate the drill. I reviewed three out of eight children’s files. I walked through the indoor spaces of the home that the children use during the visit. Due to inclement weather, I could not monitor the outdoor space. I observed the children free play, playing a game with flower petals and one infant being held during feeding. Mrs. Krietemeyer interacted with the children in a pleasant manner. I monitored the vehicle used to transport children. The license/tag and the insurance for the vehicle were current. The vehicle is equipped with a fire extinguisher, first aid kit, emergency identifying information and a cellular telephone. Monthly fire drills and playground inspections were reviewed as well as quarterly disaster drills. The last fire drill was 1/13/26. The last disaster drill (lockdown) was 1/7/26. The last playground inspection was 1/13/26. A satisfactory fire inspection was completed on 6/7/25. A full assessment of applicable child care requirements was conducted during today’s visit as per the attached checklist. The Verification of Required Information and Operator and Additional Caregiver form and the Operator’s Statement of Responsibility form were completed and signed today. There were two violations observed during the visit. Violation Number Comment Rule 1301 Operator did not complete the required number of on-going training hours as specified in rule. Operator received two hours of training during the 2025 year. GS 110-91(11); 10A NCAC 09 .1705(b)(5) 1821 Caregivers did not document compliance with visually checking on sleeping infants aged 12 months or younger and/or the documents were not maintained for a minimum of 30 days. Caregiver has not documented when she has checked visually on the infant who has been in care the past two weeks. .1724(a)(8)&(f) In order to maintain compliance with North Carolina child care laws and rules, the above violations must be corrected immediately. A letter stating how the violations were corrected and how you plan to maintain compliance in the future must be submitted to me by 02/20/26. The letter of compliance should contain the following information: 1. Facility Name 2. Facility ID 3. Date of the letter 4. The violation number, the date the violation was corrected, information regarding how the violation was corrected. 5. Signature of the person preparing the letter. Please submit the signed letter electronically to my email address. If I do not receive your letter by 02/20/26, a return visit to your program may be conducted to assess compliance with the violations. Meg Riddle, Supervisor, accompanied me on the visit. We were greeted by Anita Krietemeyer. This center currently operates with a One Star License since 10/11/17. As of 11/4/25, the facilities compliance score was ninety-eight (98) percent. Monthly fire drills and disaster drills were recorded during the visit. Playground inspections were complete and have been documented. A satisfactory fire inspection was completed on 6/7/25. I verified the lead in water was up to date as of 5/25/25. The facility tested positive for lead paint in exterior door and mitigation is in progress. No asbestos is present. Ms. Krietemeyer and her husband have recently obtained new CBC good until 2030. Ms. Krietemeyer has recently obtained CPR/First Aid and It's SIDS. We observed the home and the outside spaces. We monitored capacity and supervision and found both in compliance. Children were participating in circle time and participating in an art activity about bears. The staff/child interactions I observed were warm and caring. Outside I observed lots of activities available to the children. There were two violations cited during today's visit. Violation Number Comment Rule 923 Operator did not keep records of monthly fire drills, quarterly lockdown or shelter-in-place drills, incident reports, incident logs, accurate attendance, emergency numbers, emergency preparedness and response plan, field trip/transportation permission, pet vaccinations records and/or playground inspections monthly outdoor safety checks for a minimum of one year. A current fire drill and disaster drill had not been recorded. This was corrected during the visit. .1721 (e)(7) 1964 Activity plan did not reflect that children have at least four different activities daily, at least one of which is outdoors. While there are good activities for the children, an activity plan has not been completed and posted. 10A NCAC 09 .1718(a)(8)(C)(i-v) Child care programs are expected to achieve and maintain compliance at all times and are required by NC GS 110-90(4) to achieve and maintain an eighteen-month compliance history score of at least seventy-five (75) percent. Any violations documented may impact the compliance history score. To maintain compliance with North Carolina child care laws and rules, the above violations must be corrected immediately. Please send me a correction letter by email stating how the violations were corrected and how you plan to maintain compliance in the future. It must be submitted to me by November 19, 2025. Include the following information in your correction letter: 1. Facility Name 2. Facility ID 3. Date of the letter 4. We provided technical assistance regarding: Activity plans: Complete a simple activity plan weekly and post. This can be done during circle time with the children. Fire drills must be recorded monthly and disaster drills quarterly. Screen time: While we did not observe any screen time today. We talked about the requirements for screen time. Thirty minutes of screen time is allowed for children ages three and older.
