Jen Jones, Consultant accompanied me during this visit. Brittnie Johnson, Director/Lead Teacher assisted us with the visit. The center's compliance history was reviewed with the operator. The program’s compliance history was nighty nine percent as of 06/11/2025. The license was posted, and the restrictions were in compliance. A walk-through of the facility was completed today. Children throughout the facility were participating in group time, free play in activity areas, transitions and personal care routines. The caregiver was interacting and meeting the developmental needs for each of the children. Fire and sanitation inspections remain current. One violation was observed today. The violation was corrected during the visit. Violation Number Comment Rule 807 A safe indoor and outdoor environment was not provided for the children. A small mop bucket with water was located in the kitchen. The bucket that had water inside was removed. 10A NCAC 09 .0601(a) A small mop bucket with water was in the kitchen area. A checklist was used to note the requirements I monitored today. This center located in a residence currently operates with a Three Star license issued on August 2, 2023. Upon arrival at the facility, I was greeted by the owner/lead teacher, Ms. Brittanie Johnson, and she assisted me during my visit today. During today’s visit, I observed the children during a group activity, cleaning up and outdoor time. Seven children were present during today’s visit. The children were making Kwanza Flags during their group activity. The children transitioned to outdoor play. The center has many activities and materials for children. The playground is fenced in and has many outdoor toys and plenty of room for vigorous play. A sanitation inspection was conducted on April 18, 2024 and received a superior rating. An approved fire inspection was conducted on January 17, 2024. Monthly playground and fire drills have been conducted and documentation was available for review. Quarterly disaster drills have also been documented. Staff and children’s files were monitored during today’s visit. Your signature on these forms serves as verification the information provided is accurate and complete. During today's visit, one violation was cited. Violation Number Comment Rule 1803 An individual over the age of 15, who resides in a family child care home or a center located in a residence on a permanent or temporary basis, or those who had their 16th birthday after the initial licensing of a family child care home; did not complete and submit required forms within five business days. The owners daughter turned 16 years of age on April 1, 2024. She does not have a CBC Qualification letter on file. G.S. 110-90.2 & .2703(q) Child Care facilities must maintain compliance with applicable childcare requirements at all times. In order to maintain compliance with North Carolina childcare laws and rules, the above violations must be corrected immediately. Please email me with the appointment date for your daughter to be fingerprinted for her CBC Qualification Letter. I received your email with the date she is to be fingerprinted. She has an appointment on December 23, 2024. Reminder: Request her fingerprints to be scanned digitally. Also, take the forms she completed online through the DCDEE website with her to the police department. I will check December 30, 2024, to see if her fingerprints have been reviewed.
