Name of Operation: ALMOST LIKE HOME LOVING CARE Facility ID: 41002499 Consultant: MARY MCMILLAN Operation Type: Family CC Home Case Number: Visit Date: 10/1/2024 Number Present: 4 Completed Date: 10/1/2024 Age: From 0 To 4 Total Minutes: 75 Time In: 11:30 AM Time Out: 12:45 PM Time In: Time Out: List to Use: Family CC Home Type Of Visit: Temp Time Period Announced/Unannounced: Unannounced I conducted an unannounced visit today to monitor applicable child care requirements during a Temporary Time Period visit. This is the first visit conducted since the license was issued on 7/29/24. During today's visit I met with Marcy Welch, Owner/Operator. I observed the children playing, having teacher directed time and transitioning to lunch. The following items were monitored during today's visit: Capacity, Supervision, approved space, activities, files and interactions. The last fire drill was recorded on 9/24/24 at 10:30am with 1 minute evacuation time. The following violations were cited during today's visit: Violation Number Comment Rule 543 Screen time was not prohibited for children under the age of three. The operator did not offer alternative activities for children under the age of three years. Screen time was given to children ages 1-4 years old. .1718(c) 919 Accurate records were not maintained for all staff and children. G.S. 110-91(9) 2030 Operator did not provide a written statement to parents regarding the smoking and tobacco restriction. .1719(a)(11) I reviewed the following items of consultation today: -We discussed that schedules of children can be different because of multiple ages that you are caring for. The younger children may need more than 1 nap time, while the older children have just one nap time during the day. With having children of all ages, your schedule may have to differ for them to meet their developmental needs. -We discussed that your CPR/FA expires in December 2024 and that you will need to have the trainings renewed before the expiration date. -All items on the children's application must be addressed in some way (ex. None, NA or the question answered) also there must be at least 1 emergency contact for each child, other than the child's parents. -The physical and shot records must be received within 30 days of their first day of enrollment. We discussed the following items of Technical Assistance during today's visit: -Screen time is only allowed for children over 3 years old, if it has a screen, it is considered screen time. You must provide additional activities for children who are under 3 years old while the older children are having screen time. -You must have a no smoking policy that the parents have signed that they have reviewed it. -All files must be complete and available for review by the child's first day of attendance, except for their physical and shot record, which they have 30 days to have on file, unless your policies state a shorter time frame. Reminders: -Please make sure that your required posted items are completed and followed, including your lesson plans. You must have specific activities in the required activity areas everyday, and that you are using the NC Foundations book to complete your lesson plans. -Please remember that infants should not be restricted and moved from apparatus to apparatus and that they have play time and floor time just like all the other children. Resources: -If you need help with lesson planning please contact EQUIPD agency, and I left information about EQUIPD with you today. You must correct the violations immediately and submit a letter by 10/14/24 stating how the violations are corrected. Please email me the letter at mary.mcmillan@dhhs.nc.gov and contact me if you have any questions. If the operator fails to correct any documented violations within the established time period, the Division of Child Development and Early Education may deny, suspend, terminate, or revoke any permit to operate (10A NCAC 09 .2000). All information in this report has been reviewed with me today.I understand that it is my responsibility to maintaincompliance with applicable NC Child Care Requirements at all times
