Name of Operation: KIDS' QUALITY TIME CHILDCARE #2 Facility ID: 41002307 Consultant: WYTINA BLACKMON Operation Type: Center Case Number: Visit Date: 4/1/2024 Number Present: 11 Completed Date: 4/1/2024 Age: From 0 To 1 Total Minutes: 110 Time In: 10:15 AM Time Out: 12:05 PM Time In: Time Out: List to Use: Center Type Of Visit: Routine Unannounced Announced/Unannounced: Unannounced The purpose of today’s visit was to monitor compliance during a routine unannounced compliance visit. Upon my arrival, I was greeted by Ms. R. Vanscoy, the director. I informed Ms. Vanscoy the purpose of today’s visit. Ms. Vanscoy gave me the necessary paperwork I needed to complete today’s visit. I observed and documented the attendance. Eleven (11) children were present during today’s visit. They were observed being fed, sleeping, on the floor with one of the teachers, washing their hands in preparation for lunch, eating lunch and napping. Limited licensing requirements were monitored. The followings items were observed in compliance during today's visit: supervision, staff/child ratio: space capacity: proper storage of medications; use of approved space, permit posted; permit restrictions, new staff files, CPR and First Aid Certification. One (1) violation was cited during today’s visit. Violation Number Comment Rule 847 Parent's medication authorization did not include required information. One child's diaper cream did not had an updated authorization. The authorization expired March 20,2024. 10A NCAC 09 .0803(4)(6-9) The above violation must be corrected immediately, and a letter must be sent to me no later than April 15,2024 stating how the item was corrected. My email address is wytina.blackmon@dhhs.nc.gov If I do not receive your letter by April 15,2024 /or if you do not address all violations, a return visit to your program will be made to monitor for compliance of violations and to obtain your compliance letter. Additional violations may be documented if the situation has not been corrected or addressed. Consultation: During today’s visit, I discussed with Ms. Vanscoy about the new rules about gallon the milk need to be stored in a milk being stored in the dormitory refrigerator. I contacted Mr. Darin Huffman, sanitation inspector during today’s visit. He informed me that the milk will need to be served from a pitcher or another container other than the milk container. This will limit the amount of milk that would need to be discarded after the milk leaves the kitchen area. Rated License Assessment: I also discussed with Ms. Vanscoy the Rated license assessment process will begin July 1,2024. I informed Ms. Vanscoy this facility is in Cohort 1. Ms. Vanscoy informed me that she is not going to have the Environmental Rating Scales as a part of her facility’s rated license assessment. Your assessment year is July 1,2024 to June 30, 2025. If the operator fails to correct any documented violations within the established time period, the Division of Child Development and Early Education may deny, suspend, terminate, or revoke any permit to operate (10A NCAC 09 .2000). A checklist was used to note the requirements I monitored today. Upon my arrival to the facility, I was greeted by Ms. R. Vanscoy, the administrator. Ms. Vanscoy assisted me during my visit today. All indoor and outdoor spaces used use by the children was observed today. All required items were posted. All medication and hazardous items were out of the children's reach. Seventeen (17) children were present during today’s visit. I observed the children playing on the floor with available toys, playing outside on the playground, washing their hands in preparation for lunch, eating lunch and napping. A sanitation inspection was conducted on August 21,2023. This facility received a superior rating with zero (0) demerits. A fire inspection was conducted on October 12, 2022. The original will be mailed to Raleigh with this documentation. Staff and children files were monitored during today’s visit. The staff and training worksheets were updated during today’s visit. Your signature on these forms serves as verification the information provided is accurate and complete. I checked the NC Department of the Secretary of State for your corporation status. Your corporation status is active and current as of September 25, 2023. Ms. Vanscoy informed me today that this facility does not transport the children therefore I did not monitor transportation requirements. Two (2) violations were cited during today’s visit. Violation Number Comment Rule 542 The written feeding plan was not modified as the child's needs changed. The written feeding plan was not modified as the one child's needs changed. 10 NCAC 09 .0902(a) 847 Parent's medication authorization did not include required information. The facility did not have medication authorization for one child's medication. 10A NCAC 09 .0803(4)(6-9) The above violations must be corrected immediately, and a letter must be sent to me no later than October 9,2023 stating how the item was corrected.
