The previous Annual Compliance Visit was completed July 12, 2024, and prior to today’s visit, the eighteen-month compliance history score was 98%, which is at or above 75%, as required by North Carolina General Statute 110-90(4)(c-d). This program currently operates with a Four-Star License issued February 27, 2020. The License was based on the program earning seven points in education standards, two points in program standards, and one quality point by choosing to meet a programmatic option by using enhanced policies approved and infrastructure of parent involvement. The information on record with DCDEE was verified as correct by Stephanie Lassiter. Current Inspections are as follows: Sanitation Classification of Superior completed July 25, 2024. Fire Inspection of Approved completed January 30, 2025. I received a copy of the fire inspection during the visit. Stephanie Lassiter, owner and operator, was present and assisted me while observing the indoor and outdoor areas. There were zero children in care. At the completion of the visit, the Visit Summary was reviewed with S. Lassiter. The following violation was observed. Violation Number Comment Rule 106 Operator has not scheduled and obtained a fire inspection within 12 months of the previous inspection. Operator did not submit the original approved report to DCDEE within one week of the inspection visit on a form provided by the Division. The operator did not mail the fire inspection within one week of the inspection. I received the inspection during today's visit. 10A NCAC 09 .0304(a) The violation was corrected during today’s visit. Children must be enrolled in order to maintain an active license. Therefore, you have until August 11, 2025 to get children enrolled in your program. The Division’s policy states that children must be enrolled in the facility to maintain an active license. If children are not enrolled during that time, the facility license will be terminated. It is your responsibility to notify me within twenty-four hours after enrolling a child so that the license will not be terminated at the end of six (6) months. Mailing Fire Inspection: A violation was cited for not mailing the facility’s current fire inspection to DCDEE within one week of the inspection. Refer to child care rule 10A NCAC 09 .0304(a). Consider mailing the fire inspection to DCDEE immediately after the inspection. You contacted the fire inspector regarding not putting the inspection on the correct form. There were four children in care. Upon my arrival, children were participating in various activities. In the dramatic play area, children were using materials like pretend food (hot dogs, cupcakes, fruits/vegetables), and pots. In art, a child was painting on an easel board using purple and white paint. Another child was sitting at a table using scissors and paper making dragon tails. Children were also observed, stacking blocks and using transportation vehicles. Positive communication was used between the teachers and children. According to the menu, lunch will consist of Turkey, wheat roll, French fries, cantaloupe, and milk. At the completion of the visit, the Visit Summary was reviewed with S. Lassiter.
