The previous Annual Compliance Visit was completed May 01, 2024, and prior to today’s visit, the eighteen-month compliance history score was at 100%. This program currently operates with a Four -Star License issued March 26, 2020. The License was based on the program earning seven points in education standards, two points in program standards, and one quality point by choosing to meet an education option for: Has completed a business training course of at least 30 clock hours. The information on record with DCDEE was verified as correct by Ms. Sonya Simmons, Owner/Operator and the owner’s corporation status was verified on the Secretary of State’s website as current-active. Current Inspections are as follows: Sanitation Classification of Superior completed October 16, 2023. A violation was observed today for the sanitation inspection. Ms. Simmons was present and accompanied me while observing the indoor and outdoor areas. Upon arrival, there was one playing outdoors. The child was using the toys in the sandbox and filling them with sand. After playing in the sandbox the child played on the airplane. After outdoor play, handwashing routines were completed. Lunch served was ham and cheese sandwich, potatoes, mixed fruit, and milk. The FCCH Statements of Responsibility form was completed. The most recent fire drill was completed on October 09, 2024, and the most recent shelter in place drill was completed September 09, 2024. The most current monthly outdoor inspection was completed on October 08, 2024. At the completion of the visit, the Visit Summary was reviewed with Ms. Simmons. The following violation was observed: Violation Number Comment Rule 1544 The child care operator did not comply with all State laws, federal laws and/or local ordinances that pertain to child health, safety, and welfare, as required by General Statute 110-91. The last sanitation inspection was dated for October 16, 2023. The sanitation inspection was not completed, one year from the last completed date. GS 110-91 Child Care programs are expected to achieve and maintain compliance at all times and are required by NC GS 110-90(4) (d) to achieve and maintain an eighteen-month compliance history score of at least seventy-five percent. The violation observed and documented today may impact the compliance history score. The violation observed and documented today must be corrected immediately. Additionally, by 5:00pm on November 19, 2024, you must submit a written, dated, and signed statement to me. The statement must describe accurately and in detail, how and when the violations were corrected. If the letter states that corrections have been made when they have not, this may be considered falsification of information. The provider can provide opportunities for the children to feel textures. The children can be provided with a variety of sensory activities.
