Name of Operation: LOYD AUMAN PRIME TIME Facility ID: 26001625 Consultant: YOLANDA PRIDGEN Operation Type: Center Case Number: Visit Date: 2/6/2024 Number Present: 36 Completed Date: 2/6/2024 Age: From 5 To 12 Total Minutes: 210 Time In: 02:30 PM Time Out: 06:00 PM Time In: Time Out: List to Use: Center Type Of Visit: Annual Comp Full Announced/Unannounced: Unannounced The purpose of today's visit was to monitor compliance with applicable child care requirements pertinent to an Annual Compliance Visit. The previous Annual Compliance Visit was completed February 14, 2023, and prior to today’s visit, the eighteen-month compliance history score was 93%, which exceeds requirements by North Carolina General Statute 110 -90(4)(c-d). This program currently operates with a Three (3) Star License issued June 9, 2017. The License was based on the program earning four (4) points in education standards, two (2) points in program standards, and one (1) quality point by choosing to meet a programmatic option: Staff benefits package and Infrastructure of parent involvement. The information on record with DCDEE was verified as correct by Lachelle Brewington, and the owner’s corporation status was verified on the Secretary of State’s website as current-active. Current Inspections are as follows: Sanitation Classification of superior completed January 18, 2024. Fire Classification of approved for daytime care completed September 13, 2023. L. Brewington, Program Coordinator, was present while I observed the indoor area. The outdoor area was not monitored due to the license restriction: The playground area does not meet child care playground standards. Jacqueline Walker, Traveling Coordinator, arrived and assisted with today's visit. I observed a group leader escort a group of older school-aged children to the facility from the middle school adjacent to the facility. Staff were observed greeting children as they arrived at the program and guided them in putting their belongings in individual cubbies and completed hand washing routines. For snack, children were served Cheez It crackers and 100% chilled fruit juice. Staff were observed escorting children to the restroom and outdoors for free play. Staff and children returned indoors and were observed completing homework and engaging in free-choice activities. Children played Connect 4 board game, made tissue paper hearts in arts and crafts, and built towers with colored foam blocks. Staff were observed greeting children as they departed the program and sharing information with families as needed. A Staff and Training worksheet was received and updated during today’s visit. Five (5) children’s files and all staff files were monitored. The most recent fire drill was completed on January 11, 2024 and a shelter-in-place emergency drill was completed on January 11, 2024. The most current monthly outdoor inspection was completed on January 4, 2024. At the completion of the visit, the Visit Summary was reviewed with L. Brewington. The following violation was observed: Violation Number Comment Rule 1424 School-aged children were not adequately supervised. During today's visit, I observed a group leader escort sixteen (16) children to the restroom located in the hallway and then transitioned to the outdoor play area. While the group was outdoors, I observed a five year old child walk into the cafeteria from the restroom unaccompanied by an adult. The group leader was not aware of the child's whereabouts since the child was not with the group when they left the restroom and went outdoors. .2506(d)(1-3) Child Care programs are expected to achieve and maintain compliance at all times and are required by NC GS 110-90(4) (d) to achieve and maintain an eighteen-month compliance history score of at least seventy-five percent. Violations observed and documented today may impact the compliance history score. The violations observed and documented today must be corrected immediately. Additionally, by 5:00pm on February 20, 2024, you must submit a written, dated, and signed statement to me. The statement must describe accurately and in detail, how and when the violations were corrected. If the letter states that corrections have been made when they have not, this may be considered falsification of information. I suggested administrators discuss supervision rules with staff at your next staff meeting; remind staff to check attendance and conduct headcounts during transitions and throughout the day; and/or request a supervision training for all staff from the Partnership for Children of Cumberland County.
