Name of Operation: HONEYCUTT PRIME TIME Facility ID: 26001615 Consultant: NANCY STRATFORD Operation Type: Center Case Number: Visit Date: 2/24/2026 Number Present: 44 Completed Date: 2/24/2026 Age: From 5 To 12 Total Minutes: 145 Time In: 02:15 PM Time Out: 04:40 PM Time In: Time Out: List to Use: Center Type Of Visit: Annual Comp Full Announced/Unannounced: Unannounced The purpose of today's visit was to monitor compliance with applicable child care requirements pertinent to an Annual Compliance Visit including health and safety training requirements. The previous Annual Compliance Visit was completed March 06, 2025, and prior to today’s visit, the eighteen-month compliance history score was at 98%. This program currently operates with a Three-Star License issued March 25, 2020. The License was based on the program earning four points in education standards, two points in program standards, and one quality point by choosing to meet a programmatic option for: Staff benefit package and Infrastructure of parent involvement. The information on record with DCDEE was verified as correct by Ms. Gekni Blue, Staff Member, and the owner’s corporation status was verified on the Secretary of State’s website as current-active. Current Inspections are as follows: The facility is exempt from meeting requirements for Sanitation and Fire Inspections. Ms. Blue was present and accompanied me while observing the indoor areas. The outdoor area was not monitored due to the license restriction: “Playground area does not meet child care playground safety standards. The staff members were observed cleaning and setting up interest centers throughout the approved child care space. Children arrived at approximately 3:10pm. Upon arrival, the children washed their hands, completed toileting activities, and put their things in their cubbies. The group leaders completed their attendance for their assigned group. The group participated in a lockdown drill. The snack served was cereal and chilled milk. After eating their snack, the children selected an activity. All materials were open and available for children. A group of children went outdoors to play. The groups alternated so each group has outdoor time. Families arriving to pick up their children were greeted, and information was shared during departure. A violation was observed for the 3-month drill requirement. A checklist was used to note the requirements monitored during the visit. A complete Staff and Training worksheet was updated, and all staff files were monitored. The Children’s Record form was completed, and seven (7) files were monitored. The last fire drill was completed on January 27, 2026. The lock down drill was completed on February 24, 2026. The monthly playground check was completed on January 27, 2026. At the completion of the visit, the Visit Summary was reviewed with Ms. Blue. The following violation was observed: Violation Number Comment Rule 1811 Shelter-in-place or lockdown drills were not practiced every three months and/or drill record was incomplete. The lockdown drill's record was incomplete. This was corrected when the staff and children practiced a lockdown drill and the staff member recorded the drill on the form. .0604(u);.0302(d)(8) Observation/Technical Assistance: Shelter-In Place or Lockdown Drill Log: The Shelter-in-place drills will need to be completed every three months. We discussed placing dates on the calendar for upcoming due dates for drills to ensure that drills are conducted as indicated in Rule 10A NCAC 09 .1719(a)(16) &.1721(e)(7). In addition, make sure to update the drill sheet to indicate the required information for the drills. During today’s visit, you were able to complete a lockdown drill. The information was recorded on the log. Recommendation: Today, I spoke with the staff member about a recommendation for all children to receive their snack before participating in any activities. Upon arrival the children can put their belongings in their cubbies, wash their hands, and be served a snack. This will ensure that all children have time to eat before parent arrival for dismissal. Prior to the children arriving, the staff should have cleaned all table. During today’s visit, prior to the children arriving all staff members cleaned the tables and prepared for activities. Once the children have snack, the staff members can separate into groups. For example: homework, outdoor play, table toys, etc. School-aged Professional Development Opportunities: The Cumberland County Partnership for Children is sponsoring the “Let’s Get Connected” The School Aged Connection. The in-person event focuses on creating a safe and inclusive community for sharing and learning new concepts. This learning event is for directors and school-age staff only (newly hired and/or seasoned Group Leaders). Training topics to be covered are: growth and development, classroom management, learning environments, building relationships, safety and wellness, positive behaviors, activity planning, and sanitation.
