A compliance letter should be sent to me by December 25, 2024. The letter should address each violation, and explain how and when it has been corrected. Please send the letter to shannel.hall@dhhs.nc.gov and include the following: -Facility name -Facility ID number -Each item number COMPLIANCE HISTORY Prior to today's visit, the program's compliance history was 100%. It will be updated after today's visit, and you will be informed of the new score. TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE The following items were discussed to help you prevent a reoccurrence of the violations observed during today's visit. In order to maintain an active license children must be enrolled at all times. You will have six months from June 5, 2024, when you had no children enrolled, to enroll children or the license will be terminated. The division policy states that children must be enrolled in the facility to maintain an active license. You must notify your consultant within twenty-four hours once you have enrolled children, so that your license will not be terminated at the end of the six months. Once you have children you must have all inspections up-to-date and in compliance with the child care regulations within 10 business days. Please reach out to Durham County Environmental Health as soon as children begin attending the center to request an inspection. An extension has been granted for the correction of the violation documented during today's visit until a new sanitation inspection can be conducted. CONSULTATION Some providers are experiencing delays in scheduling their fingerprinting appointments. Criminal record checks can be completed up to six months prior to the expiration date. We are encouraging all staff to begin their renewal process early to avoid lapses in their qualification. HEALTH AND SAFETY TRAINING Health and Safety trainings are now available through Moodle on the DCDEE website. These trainings are provided free of charge. You should use your NCID username and password to access the Moodle portal. As per Child Care Rule .1103(b) the Health and Safety trainings must be renewed at least every 5 years. Some of your staff completed the trainings in 2017, so they should begin to retake the training now.
