    Name of Operation: CYNTHIA'S LITTLE PEOPLE Facility ID: 32001194 Consultant: SHANNEL HALL Operation Type: Family CC Home Case Number: Visit Date: 7/10/2023 Number Present: 4 Completed Date: 7/10/2023 Age: From 2 To 3 Total Minutes: 65 Time In: 01:10 PM Time Out: 02:15 PM Time In: Time Out: List to Use: Family CC Home Type Of Visit: Annual Comp Full Announced/Unannounced: Unannounced The purpose of today’s unannounced visit was to assess applicable child-care requirements during your annual compliance visit. The family childcare provider, Cynthia, assisted me with today’s visit. I completed a general walk-through of the children's space, kitchen, and outdoor playing area. Four (4) children were present today. I observed the children resting during nap time. RATED LICENSE STATUS The program holds a 4-star-rated license issued on 8/1/19. The program is in the "held harmless" status and points from the previous assessment are carried forward. The program received 2 points in Program Standards, 7 points in Staff Education, and 1 quality point. INSPECTIONS The last fire drill was conducted on 6/12/23. The last emergency drill was conducted on 5/15/23. The last playground inspection was conducted on 6/12/23. All applicable child care requirements were monitored during today's visit. No children enrolled have medications or medical care plans, so these requirements were not monitored. The program does not currently enroll infants, so safe sleep requirements were not monitored. The following violation was observed and recorded during today's visit. Violation Number Comment Rule 1301 Operator did not complete the required number of on-going training hours as specified in rule. The provider did not complete the required on-going training hours with their annual training year. The provider completed 3.5 hours out of the 8 hours that is required yearly. GS 110-91(11); 10A NCAC 09 .1705(b)(5) In order to comply with the NC Laws & Rules, any violations cited today must be corrected immediately. A compliance letter should be sent to me by July 24, 2023. The letter should address each violation, and explain how and when it has been corrected. Please send the letter to shannel.hall@dhhs.nc.gov and include the following: -Facility name -Facility ID number -Each item number COMPLIANCE HISTORY Prior to today’s visit, the program’s compliance history was 100%.It will be updated after today's visit and you will be informed of the new score. TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE The following items were discussed to help you prevent a reoccurrence of the violations observed during today's visit. I would suggest doing training hours throughout the year. I would do one or two a month to make sure they are completed on time. ANNUAL IN-SERVICE TRAINING The in-service hours were monitored for the annual year July 11, 2022-July 10, 2023. HEALTH AND SAFETY TRAINING Health and Safety trainings are now available through Moodle on the DCDEE website. These trainings are provided free of charge. You should use your NCID username and password to access the Moodle portal. As per Child Care Rule .1103(b) the Health and Safety trainings must be renewed at least every 5 years. If you completed the trainings in 2017, you should begin to retake the training now. CONSULTATION Some providers are experiencing delays in scheduling their fingerprinting appointments. Criminal record checks can be completed up to six months prior to the expiration date. We are encouraging all staff to begin their renewal process early to avoid lapses in their qualification. AGENCY UPDATES Please remember to check the Division of Child Development and Early Education website: nchildcare.ncdhhs.gov frequently to stay updated on rule requirements.
