The facility currently has a four-star license and an 18 month compliance history of 100%. The license and NC childcare law summary were prominently posted. The Secretary of State database was monitored, and PRECIOUS PLAYMATES ENTERPRISE, INC. is current and active. I was greeted by R. Michael, assistant director. Ms. Michael, director arrived during my visit. I conducted a walkthrough of the facility. Staff/child ratio, supervision, capacity, group size and space were observed in compliance today. The center’s Emergency Drill Log and Report was reviewed. Fire drills were documented monthly as required. Shelter in place and/or lockdown drills were documented as required. The playground safety inspections were reviewed and documented. The center last had a sanitation inspection on 12/16/25. The center received 7 demerits and received superior classification. The inspection was completed by the Mecklenburg County Health Department. The center last had a fire inspection on 10/17/25. There were 8 children present during the visit. The playground was monitored during today’s visit. - The facility transportation vehicle was monitored, the Cadillac Escalade. Ms. Michael stated that it may be used for field trips this summer for school-age children. -Ms. Michael stated that the facilities van will be going to shop. I shared that she would need to contact me to monitor the vehicle prior to transporting children. As the vehicle hasn’t been used to transport children in several years. There has been no new staff since my last visit. I monitored all existing staff files. Ten percent of children files were monitored. There was 1 violation cited during today's visit. Violation Number Comment Rule 1757 A valid qualification letter was not on file and available to review at the facility. A staff member's valid qualification letter was not on file. G.S. 110-90.2(b) & (d) & .2703(e) Technical Assistance: -I discussed the ABCMS portal with Ms. Michael. - The facility transportation vehicle was monitored, the Cadillac Escalade. Ms. Michael stated that it may be used for field trips this summer for school-age children. -Ms. Michael stated that the facilities van will be going to shop. I shared that she would need to contact me to monitor the vehicle prior to transporting children. As the vehicle hasn’t been used to transport children in several years. -I shared with staff to monitor the playground for ant hills. I shared to monitor tree branches. I reviewed QRIS/ pathway 2 with Ms. Michael. The facility currently has a four-star license and an 18 month compliance history of 95%. The license and NC childcare law summary were prominently posted. The Secretary of State database was monitored and the PRECIOUS PLAYMATES ENTERPRISES, INC. is current and active. I was greeted by N. Michael, director. Ms. Michael accompanied me during the walkthrough of the facility. Staff/child ratio, supervision, capacity, group size and space were observed in compliance today. The center’s Emergency Drill Log and Report was reviewed. Fire drills were documented monthly as required. Shelter-in-place and Lock-down drills were documented quarterly as required. The playground safety inspections were reviewed and documented. The center last had a sanitation inspection on 1.23/24. The center received 9 demerits and received superior classification. The inspection was completed by the Mecklenburg County Health Department. The center last had a fire inspection on 11/12/23. There were 17 children in attendance today during the walkthrough. I observed the children participating in transitions and outdoor play. The playground was monitored during today’s visit. The facility transportation vehicle was monitored; the Cadillac Escalade. Ms. Michael stated that it will be used for field trips this summer for school age children. She stated that it may be used in the Fall for the upcoming school year. She stated that she will update her transportation binder if providing transportation in the Fall. There are no new staff since my last visit and 10 percent of existing staff files were monitored today. Ten percent of the enrolled children’s files were monitored at random today. There was 1 violation cited today. Violation Number Comment Rule 1043 All staff records, except financial records, were not made available for review. A staff members medical and TB was unavailable for review. It was monitored at the previous visit. This center has a four star license and an 18 month compliance history score of 94%. The license and NC child care law summary were prominently posted. Upon arrival, I was greeted by R. Michael, assistant director. I conducted a walkthrough of the facility. Ms. N. Michael, the director, arrived later during the visit. There were 8 children in attendance today. The children were observed participating in free play and teacher directed activities. During the walkthrough, I spent time observing space #5, a classroom for children 2 and 3 years of age. I observed the children sitting on the carpet singing songs and the teacher helping them with the calendar. The following items were monitored today: supervision, staff/child ratios, permit restrictions, license posted, approved space, storage of hazardous products, storage of medication, staff records and program records. There is 1 new staff since my last visit. I monitored the new staff file. The staff and training worksheets were reviewed to confirm existing staff were still current with CPR, First Aid, ITS-SIDS training and criminal background qualifying letters. The center’s Emergency Drill Log and Report was reviewed. Fire drills were documented monthly as required. Shelter-in-place and Lock-Down drills were documented quarterly as required. The playground safety inspections were reviewed. Reports were documented monthly as required. There was 1 violation cited during today’s visit. Violation Number Comment Rule 106 Operator has not scheduled and obtained a fire inspection within 12 months of the previous inspection. Operator did not submit the original approved report to DCDEE within one week of the inspection visit on a form provided by the Division.
