This center has a GS 110-106 Notice of Compliance and an 18 month compliance history score of 99%. The notice of compliance and NC child care law summary were prominently posted. Upon arrival, I was greeted by N. Duggal, director. I conducted a walkthrough of the facility. There were 2 children in attendance today. The children were observed participating in free play and yoga. The following items were monitored today: supervision, staff/child ratios, permit restrictions, license posted, approved space, storage of hazardous products, storage of medication, staff records and program records. There have been no new staff since my last visit. The staff and training worksheets were reviewed to confirm existing staff were still current with CPR, First Aid, and criminal background qualifying letters. The center’s Emergency Drill Log and Report was reviewed. Fire drills were documented monthly as required. Shelter in place/lockdown drills were documented as required. The playground safety inspections were reviewed. Playground inspections were documented as required. There was 1 violation cited during today’s visit. The violation was corrected during the visit. Violation Number Comment Rule 840 All corrosive agents, pesticides, bleaches, detergents, cleansers, polishes, any product which is under pressure in an aerosol dispenser, and any substance which may be hazardous to a child if ingested, inhaled, or handled were not stored in a locked room or cabinet. In space #1, there was RAID bug spray in an aerosol dispenser on the shelf. .2820(b) Technical Assistance: Recommend new employees take additional training after completing orientation. This center has a GS 110-106 Notice of Compliance. The center’s Notice of Compliance and NC childcare law summary were prominently posted. The Secretary of State database was monitored and AUM EDUCATION SOCIETY OF CAROLINAS INC. is current and active. I was greeted by N. Duggal, director. Ms. Duggal accompanied me during the walkthrough of the facility. Staff/child ratio, supervision, capacity, group size and space were observed in compliance today. The center’s Emergency Drill Log and Report was reviewed. Fire drills were documented monthly as required. Shelter-in-place and Lock-down drills were documented quarterly as required. The playground safety inspections were reviewed and documented. The center last had a sanitation inspection on 3/26/25. The center received 11 demerits and received superior classification. The inspection was completed by the Mecklenburg County Health Department. The center last had a fire inspection on 4/16/2025. There were 3 children present during the walkthrough of the facility. I observed the children participating in free play. The playground was monitored during today’s visit. The facility does not provide transportation. All new staff files and ten percent of existing staff files were monitored today. Ten percent of the enrolled children’s files were monitored at random today. There were 2 violations cited during today’s visit. Violation Number Comment Rule 1034 All staff, including the director, did not have an annual health questionnaire on file following the initial medical statement. A staff member did not have a current annual health questionnaire on file. .0701(a) 1035 Child care providers, including the director, uncompensated providers, substitute providers, and volunteers did not have the required Emergency Information Form on file on or before the first day of work, which included all the required information and/or the information on the form was not updated as changes occur and at least annually. Two staff members did not have a current annual emergency information form on file. One staff member completed the form during the visit. .0701(a) Technical Assistance: -I discussed the ABCMS Portal with the administrator. I monitored all staff in the portal. -I shared with the administrator to make sure to send me the fire inspection report within a week of the inspection. -I shared with the administrator to complete EPR plan by May 2, 2025. -I shared with the administrator to monitored lawn for maintenance.
