I was greeted by Mrs. Cherry owner and administrator outside upon my arrival and I explained the purpose of my visit to Mrs. Cherry. Mrs. Cherry informed me that they were setting up for their fall festival/family engagement event. Ms. Denny, Program coordinator and Mrs. Cherry both assisted me during the visit and walk though of the facility. This facility currently operates with a four (4) star rated license effective 3/26/2018. The North Carolina Secretary of State website was reviewed and Absolute Child Care, Inc. active and current since 2013. INSPECTIONS: The last sanitation inspection was conducted 07/24/25. The last fire inspection was conducted on 5/22/25. The last documented fire drill was conducted 10/10/25. The last documented shelter-in-place or lockdown drill was conducted 10/20/25. The last documented playground inspection was conducted 10/18/25. Your compliance history was 92% prior to today’s visit. Violations cited today may negatively affect this score. I monitored the following items today: Supervision, Staff/child ratio, health, safety, program and management. The following items were posted in the classrooms and/or hallway: Daily schedules, activity plans, staff/child ratio worksheets, arrival/departure procedures, summary of law and menus. Transportation is currently not being offered by the facility due to the vehicle currently having mechanical issues. The attached checklist was used to note the requirements we monitored today. Staff and children’s records were reviewed today. Observations: Indoor Learning Environment: Upon arrival staff/child ratio was observed and was in compliance. Children were adequately supervised during today’s visit. Children were observed actively engaged in activity centers in both Meck Pre-k classrooms in space two children were engaged in circle time. The teacher read a story and sang songs. Naptime was observed, children slept or had quite activities. Children were served peperoni and cheese pizza, fruit cups, and milk for lunch and snack consisted of apple juice and cheese crackers The facility had parent training during my time at the facility. Outdoor Learning Environment: Your playground is separated into two (2) different sections. The following items were observed in the outdoor learning environment: balls, riding toys, blocks, swing sets, a climbing structure, push toys and a picnic table. Additional materials were also in a bin outdoors. Violation Number Comment Rule 428 A current activity plan was not posted for each group of children for reference. Space five did not have the current lesson plan posted. GS 110-91(12); .0508(a) 614 Bed, cribs, playpens, cots or mats were not placed at least 18" apart or separated by partitions when in use. Cots in space 1, space 2, and space 4 had cots placed 16 inch apart or less in some areas. 15A NCAC 18A .2821(e) Violations: Any Violations observed today were discussed with you and documented on the visit summary and left with you at the conclusion of this visit. The following violations of childcare requirements were cited during today’s visit and must be corrected immediately. Technical assistance on how to maintain compliance with the violations cited today was provided. Comments: It is important for licensed providers to be knowledgeable of all the licensing requirements that apply to their type of program. Childcare consultants can make unannounced visits at any time. It is the provider's responsibility to be in compliance with all the applicable laws and rules. If it is stated in your correction letter that corrections have been made when they have not, this will be considered falsification of information. If you cannot meet the requirements by this date, you must contact me with a proposed timeline of the corrections. In some cases, the timeline may be extended. If any changes to the corporation need to be made or you decide to sell your business, then you must notify your consultant at least thirty days prior to any changes occurring. I was greeted at the door by Africa Cherry, owner and administrator. I stated the purpose of my visit and conducted a walk-through of the facility. The children that are enrolled in Meck Pre K were observed leaving the facility with their parents as I arrived at the facility. All other children were engaged in gross motor outside play, dancing and jumping as they were celebrating. Children had just finished an Easter egg hunt. Children were later observed transitioning to inside to toileting and handwashing routines. I conducted a walk-through of the facility, and the following items were monitored: supervision, staff/child ratio, CPR/first aid, IT-SIDS, CBC qualification, Emergency Medical Care Plan, administration of medication, storage of hazardous products, storage of medication, general safety, discipline, adequate/approved space, program records, license posted, permit restrictions, safe arrival and departure, and all required posted documents.
