Name of Operation: A MOTHER'S TOUCH FAMILY CHILDCARE Facility ID: 60002374 Consultant: MICHELLE CUTHBERTSON Operation Type: Center Case Number: Visit Date: 1/8/2025 Number Present: 4 Completed Date: 1/8/2025 Age: From 2 To 5 Total Minutes: 70 Time In: 09:50 AM Time Out: 11:00 AM Time In: Time Out: List to Use: Center Type Of Visit: Routine Unannounced Announced/Unannounced: Unannounced The purpose of today’s unannounced visit is to monitor applicable child care rules and laws. This center has a four star license and an 18 month compliance history score of 96%. The license and NC child care law summary were prominently posted. Upon arrival, I was greeted by S. Sellars, director/owner. I conducted a walkthrough of the facility. There were 4 children present during the walkthrough of the facility. During the visit, I observed the children sitting on the carpet. I observed Mrs. Sellars reading “Polar Bear, Polar Bear what do I see? I observed Mrs. Sellars asking the children open ended questions like “Have you ever been to the zoon? The following items were monitored today: supervision, staff/child ratios, permit restrictions, license posted, approved space, storage of hazardous products, storage of medication, staff records and program records. There have been no new staff since my last visit. The staff and training worksheets were reviewed to confirm existing staff were still current with CPR, First Aid, ITS-SIDS training and criminal background qualifying letters. The center’s Emergency Drill Log and Report was reviewed. Fire drills were documented monthly as required. Shelter-in-place and Lock-Down drills were documented quarterly as required. The playground safety inspections were reviewed. Reports were documented monthly as required. Mrs. Sellars youngest son is now 16 years old, and I monitored is qualification letter. There was 1 violation cited during today’s visit, and it was corrected during the visit. Violation Number Comment Rule 812 Electrical outlets and power strips, not in use, which were located in space used by children did not have safety outlets or were not covered with safety plugs unless located behind furniture or equipment that cannot be moved by a child.
