A checklist was used to note the requirements I monitored today, and a copy was left with you. The last annual compliance visit was conducted 5/30/23. Currently this program operates with a five (5) Star License, issued 5/12/18. The facility earned seven (7) points in staff education, seven (7) points in program standards, and one (1) quality point for education options met. The program provides care for school-age children only. Site administrator Jaydee Moore assisted me today. I conducted an assisted walk-through of the classrooms. The last sanitation inspection was completed 4/16/24 with a ‘Superior’ classification and 4 demerits. The last fire inspection was conducted on 2/26/24. The school system opted out of monitoring of the outdoor learning environment. This facility serves school-age only children in a school managed by the Department of Public Instruction. Children were observed playing outside, playing in activity areas, and routine care activities. Transportation is not provided. Today a full assessment of childcare requirements was conducted. The following violations were observed today: Violation Number Comment Rule 1041 Prior to employment a Criminal Background Check was not completed. Staff member P. McLaughlin began on 3/1/24 and his letter was dated 4/22/24. G.S. 110-90.2(b) You were provided an opportunity to ask questions regarding interpretation and implementation of all childcare requirements. Each violation cited was discussed with Ms. Moore. The violation(s) documented above must be corrected immediately. A signed and dated letter of compliance must be received on or before 6/12/24. The letter must include the following: *Facility Name and ID number *List of each violation number *How each violation was corrected All items must be included, or the corrective action letter will be returned for corrections. CONSULTATION: We discussed the cohort plan from DCDEE to resume the rated license assessments. You are in cohort 1 and currently I your preparation year until June 30, 2024. Your assessment year will July 1, 2024-June 30, 2025. You may request technical assistance at any time to prepare for the assessments. The criminal background letter for J. Moore will expire 9/19/24. The letters for the substitute staff will expire in August 2024. The completion dates for the health and safety trainings for substitute staff must be sent to me by 6/3/24. Violations may be added if they are not submitted, or they were not completed within the correct time frame.
