Brenda Simmons, operator, assisted me with the visit. All indoor and outdoor spaces were monitored. Your program currently operates with a four-star license, issued April 28, 2022, earning 7 points in the education component, 2 points in the program standards component and 1 quality point. Restrictions are daytime and overnight, age one to twelve years of age, maximum of five preschool children at one time, fireplace not used during operating hours. The last annual compliance visit was conducted March 27, 2025. The center's compliance history was reviewed with the operator. The program’s compliance history was one hundred percent as of March 17, 2026. You currently only have school age children enrolled. You stated you are interviewing and advertising to enroll preschool children. One violation was documented and discussed with you. The item was also corrected during the visit. Violation Number Comment Rule 1940 Hazardous cleaning supplies and other items that might be poisonous e.g. toxic plants, were not out of reach or in locked storage when children were in care. Two containers of bleach were observed sitting on the kitchen floor accessible to children. The items were made inaccessible during the visit. .1719(a)(6) Child Care programs are expected to achieve and maintain compliance at all times and are required by NC GS 110-90(4) (d) to achieve and maintain an eighteen-month compliance history score of at least seventy-five percent. Technical Assistance- We reviewed the Classroom and Instructional Quality Pathway requirements. You are choosing an approved curriculum and assessment tool to maintain 4 stars.
