Reasonably appropriate discipline or restraint may be used to prevent a child from harming himself or herself, or to prevent a child from harming other persons or property, or to allow a child to gain control of himself or herself excluding those forms of punishment prohibited by subrule (3) of this rule.

Based on interviews with Shanda McFall, licensee, Witness 1, and parents children are provided adequate care at the child care home. Shanda McFall does uses words like "no thank you," when redirecting children. She denied grabbing children as a form of discipline.

Based on the on-site inspection at the family home, The home was found to be maintained. The children's lunch was being prepared, and the dishes were seen to be clean free from food and debris.
