R 400.1932 · R 400.1932 Home maintenance and safety. (1) The structure, premises, and furnishings of a child care home must be in good repair and maintained in a clean, safe, and comfortable condition.

On 5/25/2021, 5/27/2021, and 6/2/2021, I attempted to contact the referral source by telephone. A voicemail was left requesting a call back. As of the date of this report I have not received a call back. On 5/28/2021 I attempted an onsite inspection. No one was home and the facility was closed. On 5/31/2021 I completed an onsite inspection at Karing 4 Kids. Ms. Cotter was advised of the allegations. It is true that the dog goes out into the fenced in yard to go to the bathroom. Any feces is immediately cleaned up. Her dog, a 3 year old Doberman, is great around the kids and all child in care statements indicate the dog is around children. The dog visits Dr. Pohl, a local veterinarian, regularly and is up to date on all vaccinations. The outdoor play area was inspected. There was no dog feces found. A shovel was noted to be in the corner of the yard which is reportedly used to pick up dog feces when present. Ms. Cotter reported she has had no 2 complaints from parents or children about her dog. Her neighbors recently complained about her dog and she feels they called in this complaint to harass her. On 7/12/2021 an exit conference was conducted with Ms. Cotter via telephone.
