A licensee shall ensure that barriers exist to prevent children from gaining access to any swimming pool, drainage ditch, well, natural or constructed pond, or other body of open water located on or adjacent to the property where the child care home is located. These barriers must be a minimum of 4 feet in height and appropriately secured to prevent children from gaining access to such areas.

The pool gate on the north side of the pool was unlocked.

In one drawer in the kitchen with a broken safety latch, there was chewing tobacco and other items hazardous items accessible to children. The cabinet under the sink had a safety latch that was not latched. The items under the sink included cleaning products which would be hazardous to children. In the bathroom, the diaper wipes which are labeled keep out of reach of children, were kept in an unlocked cabinet and on the back of the toilet seat.
