R 400.8525(6) · R 400.8525(6) Exits. Means of egress shall be maintained in an unobstructed, easily traveled condition at all times that the center is in operation. Means of egress shall not be exposed to inherent hazards of the building, including the heating plant, flammable storage, commercial kitchen, or other similar conditions.

The emergency exit from the infant/toddler room was not maintained in an easily traveled condition. The door opened into soft dirt and stones, which hinders the safe travel with evacuation cribs.

More than 1,200 square feet of outdoor play area may be required when the minimum amount is not adequate for the number of children for which the center is licensed.

The outdoor play area was reduced to roughly 800 sq. ft. due to the construction.
