On June 24, 2025, Melissa Bell, licensee, placed a 6- month-old infant in the care of an 11-year-old minor household member while the licensee left the room to use the restroom. The infant was awake and active at the time and fell to the floor, requiring emergency services to be called. The licensee acknowledged there were safe alternatives available, such as a jumper, and that leaving the infant in her daughter’s lap was not appropriate. The child’s parent was not informed prior to the incident that the daughter would be supervising children, even briefly.
