On July 27, 2021, I checked the licensing system and found that Ms. Zerrilli was enrolled under license number DG500408890. On July 29, 2021, I mailed Samantha Zerrilli, of the address provided in the complaint, a letter informing them of the law, 1973 Public Act 116, and the requirements that individuals be licensed in order to care for unrelated children in their home if they are providing care for more than 4 weeks in a calendar year and are earning more than $600 annual compensation. Attached to the letter was a form for the resident to complete, sign and return to me regarding whether they are providing child care in their home. On August 26, 2021, I received a response from Ms. Zerrilli. She checked the box acknowledging that she was not caring for unrelated children in her home and 2 signed the document on August 21, 2021. I spoke with Ms. Zerrilli on September 3, 2021, setting up a time for an original inspection. She confirmed verbally that she was not watching unrelated children in her home.
