On 9/29/2022 I spoke with Child Care Licensing Consultant Mary Smith via telephone. She has had no concerns with Sweet Angels Childcare or the owner Ebony Wheeler. Ms. Wheeler is good about reporting any issues or incidents. On 10/3/2022 I spoke with the reporting source (RS) via telephone. Child C (6-year- old male) broke a cell phone that belonged to Child A (6-year-old female), while at the child care center. RS posted something about the incident on social media 2 without mentioning names because she was upset about the incident occurring at childcare. Ms. Jordan was told about the social media post and was upset. The next time RS's children were at child care, Ms. Jordan got into Child B's (8-year-old female) face and said, "Tell that bitch to pull up. Call your mama and tell that bitch to pull up." Ms. Wheeler called RS and apologized for Ms. Jordan's behavior. RS is a former employee at the child care and has witnessed Ms. Jordan yelling at other children in the past. RS's children will not be returning to the child care. On 10/6/2022 I conducted an onsite inspection of Sweet Angel's Childcare. Ms. Wheeler was spoken with about the allegations. A former employee is upset because Child C broke Child A's cell phone. None of the staff saw Child C break Child A's cell phone and there is some doubt about whether or not it was working before Child C touched it. She spoke to Child A's mother about the incident. Child A's mother was very upset and wanted someone to buy Child C a new cell phone. Child A's mother then went onto social media and posted her feelings about the incident. Ms. Jordan eventually found out about the social media posts and became angry. While Child A and Child B were present, Ms. Jordan said, "I will beat her ass" referring to Child A and B's mother. There were six children present at the time and at least one other staff member. Ms. Wheeler sent Ms. Jordan home immediately and told her she was not going to act this way in the child care center. She has not been back to work at the child care since the incident and it is unknown if she will continue to work there or not. A brief tour of the facility was completed. No other concerns or issues were noted. On 10/25/2022 I called Ms. Jordan and left a voicemail requesting a call back at her earliest convenience. On 11/1/2022 I called Ms. Jordan and left a voicemail requesting a call back at her earliest convenience. As of the date of this report, she has not returned my calls. On 11/1/2022 I called child care staff member Sheranda Turner. Ms. Turner was present for the incident. She feels Child A's mother antagonized the situation with Ms. Jordan because they have a personal history. Ms. Jordan was told about the recent social media posts, and she became angry. Ms. Jordan indicated she was tired of Child A's mother disparaging her on social media and said she would "beat her ass." Child A and Child B were present. Ms. Jordan reportedly felt bad about cursing in front of the children. She was sent home and Child A's mother was notified and was given an apology by Ms. Wheeler. She has not heard Ms. Jordan say anything like that in front of child care children in the past. On 11/10/2022 I called Ms. Wheeler and left a voicemail requesting a call back at her earliest convenience. On 11/14/2022 an exit conference was conducted with Ms. Wheeler on the telephone. Ms. Wheeler indicated Ms. Jordan has returned to work at the center but 3 was spoken with about her language and she agreed to complete whatever steps necessary to continue working at the facility.
