Before caring for children, all child care staff members and unsupervised volunteers who work directly with children shall be trained on prevention of shaken baby syndrome, abusive head trauma and child maltreatment, and recognition and reporting of child abuse and neglect.

A child care staff member who began working in September 2024 had not completed the required Health and Safety training prior to caring for children.

Based on the information obtained during this investigation staff provided appropriate care and supervision of Child A. CCSM 1 was playing "train game" with the before care children when Child A's as accidently hurt. CCSM 1 gave Child A an ice pack for ~%e . CCSM I reported the incident that morning to child car nd Child A's Mother and Child A 's Father. Child care staff members monitored Child A and observed Child A to be able to engage in typical daily activities throughout the day.
