On 12/1512022, 1 spoke with the complainant. On 12/15/2022, 1 spoke with Child A and B's Mother. She said Child A no longer attends the child care as this would have happened between the years of 2014- 2015. She believes Child A disclosed to her that she was put in a closet approximately nine months after leaving the child care which likely would have been sometime in 2016. She believes Child A was in the car and in passing she said, "Oh yea*the used to lock me in the closet". but she did not report this at that time. Child A is as Child A has which is ~~vh these inci c care are resurfacing, shePsopenFyywith her 'a about being locked in the closet. Child A isn't a child that would make up fantasies, she is gifted. Child A has been - for approximately three to four years off and on and At the child care, there were two child care staff members, Jodi and Linda Remington. She is unsure if it was one of them that specifically handled the discipline of Child A or if it was both of them. Child A typically cried during drop offs in the morning and Child A disclosed she was put into a closet "for hours on end, not allowed to leave." The child care staff members checked on Child A and asked her if she was done crying or asked her why she was crying, if she provided a reason then they told her that that isn't a reason to cry. Child A and B's Mother recalls Child A "welling up" when she dropped her off and Child A would lie and tell either Jodi or Linda Remington that she had something in her eye or would make up another excuse as to why she was crying. Child A has a younger sister, Child B who also attended the child care at the same time. Child B has never made any comments or remarks about being placed in a closet herself or about Child A being placed in a closet. Child A has never mentioned that Child was placed in a closet. Child A and nI B's Mother never asked these questions of Child A, but from what Child A said, it sounded like Child A was singled out. Child A is highly intelligent and questions adult directives, which is what she did when she was younger and in care. For example, children had to ask to get up from the table in child care and it wouldn't be out of the normal for Child A to ask why and push back. It appeared they did not like Child A. It seemed frequent that Child A was put into the closet as she cried frequently at drop off and was punished for it. The child care primarily operates in the basement, she believes in the basement there is a room and if turned to the right, there is a closet on the right, but she doesn't specifically recall. She said Child A was not missing meals and she never said anything about having food withheld. Child A and B's Mother said Child A has and didn't know how to respond to the information at the time it was given to her. She said "I blocked it out to be honest, it just kind of resurfaced and I feel like I never left it the right way. Even if there is nothing to be done, at least I did something". On 12/15/2022, I received a text message from Child A and B's Mother stating she located tax records and confirmed Child A attended the child care from 2013-2014. On 12/19/2022, emails were exchanged between and me. A visit has been scheduled to interview Child ay at 1:00PM. On 12/19/2022, and I made an announced visit to Child A's home. conducted a forensic interview with Child A. Child A disclosed she remem ers Linda and Jodi but does not have a "super good memory" and does not recall the name of the child are. She said in the morning, she went to the child care crying because she missed her parents. She was scared of Linda and Jodi. They got mad at her for crying and "they would yank me into a closet with a table and chair in it." They would leave her in the closet and lock the door. Child A ate in solitary as well. Jodi and Linda checked on her every half hour to see if she was still crying. She said she wasn't crying but would start crying again when they checked on her, so they kept
