On 11/18/2020 I conducted an unannounced inspection at Novi Northville Montessori Center. I interviewed Program Director, Amarprett Dhillon and child care staff member, Navneet Dhillon. Ms. A. Dhillon and Ms. N. Dhillon both stated that Ms. A. Dhillon is the program director and that she works Monday through Friday. She comes into work at 7am and takes a break around 11 am. After taking a break, she returns to work in the afternoon. Both stated she works for at least 2 or 3 mores hours after returning from her break. She takes a break from 11 am to 1:30 pm and returns after. She stays until at least 3:30pm, sometimes she stays until 6:00pm. Both said that Ms. A. Dhillon started as a Program Director at Novi Northville Montessori around October 2020. Ms. A. Dhillon is approved by the department to be a Program Director. She was previously approved by a child care consultant on July 28, 2016, under rule 400.8113(9)(d)(13). 2 I received a copy of the staff schedules. Ms. A. Dhillon was not listed on the schedule. She reported the staff schedule was used like a time clock and was a way to document hours for paying child care staff members. She stated she was not listed on the schedule because she pays herself in a different way; therefore, it was not necessary to document her hours on the staff schedule. Ms. A. Dhillon said that moving forward she will sign herself in and out on a regular basis. The complainant could not be contacted. No contact information was provided.

The licensee did not maintain accurate records detailing daily arrival and departure for each child care staff member. She did not maintain an accurate loa of attendance for herself.
