After being in Ms. Battee's care, Child Ai , male) was observed to have bruising on both his arms. I completed an onsite inspection at the child care on 712312021 with Ms. Battee was expecting us, had made arrangements with her the day before. Ms. Battee stated that was supposed to be leaving for Chicago for a 2 wedding so she did not have any children in care that day but wanted to meet with us so she waited to leave. Ms. Battee stated that on 712012021 she was in the kitchen making lunch for the children, Child A was sitting at a small kids table in the living room adjacent to the kitchen watching TV with the other children while she cooked. Ms. Battee glanced away for just one minute and, in that time, Child A climbed on top of the table. When she glanced back, she went to move towards him to grab him off and he fell from the table in the same instant. Child A didn't cry or even act like anything hurt. She stated that he didn't even want her to hold him; he just wanted to keep playing. At pick up Ms. Battee told Child A's Mother about what had happened but reported that he was fine all rest of the afternoon. She said later that evening, Child A's Mother texted her about a mark on his arm and Child A's Mother thought it might be a bug bite. Ms. Battee told her to put some hydrocortisone cream on it and just watch it. Ms. Battee explained that Child A's Mother is a new mom and often will ask for advice on parenting. She did not hear anything else from her until the next day when Child A's Mother texted that she took Child A into the hospital because the marks looked like bruises and she did not know where they would have come from. Child A's Mother stated that after she left the child care with Child A on 7/2012021, she brought him to his godfather's house for the evening. I asked Ms. Battee if she could think of anything else that could have happened that day, like another child throwing a toy or him tripping over anything. She stated that she did not recall anything. On 8/5/2021 I received APPLICABLE RULE R 400.1911 Care; supervision; children. (1) A licensee shall ensure appropriate care and supervision of children at all times. .................................................... ................................................................... ANALYSIS: There is no evidence to support that Child A was injured at the child care under Ms. Battee's supervision. A small bruise was not observed until the following day and Child A had been in the care of a couple different people. Child A's Mother has no concerns in regards to the care that Child A is being provided by Ms. Battee. CONCLUSION: VIOLATION NOT ESTABLISHED IV.
