I received a phone call from licensee Stephanie Marion and licensee designee Tonia Garcia on 4/1612021. They stated that they had received a phone call from Child A's Mother around 4:00 PM. Child A's Mother indicated that when she asked Child A why ■ was walking funny, ■ stated that Child B had put ■ hands down■ pants at child care that day. Child A's Mother reported to Ms. Marion that Child A had told child care staff member Augustus Donaldson and he just told Child B to go lay down. Ms. Marion and Ms. Garcia reported that they had a phone conference with Child A's Mother and Mr. Donaldson. Mr. Donaldson reported during the call that this was the first time he had heard of the incident and that Child A never said anything to him. Ms. Marion conference. Due to staff shortages and minimal children attending eir Old Grand Haven Rd. facility, they moved the children from that facility over to their Lakeside site for now. Ms. Garcia and Ms. Marion were both hopeful that Mr. Donaldson would , as they believe he is an amazing teacher and a positive influence for children in care. I attempted to complete an onsite inspection at the child care facility on 4/21/2021. The site where the incident occurred was closed, so I completed an onsite at the main facility. I interviewed Ms. Garcia during this onsite. She stated that Mr. Donaldson had reported to her that Child A arrived at the child care facility around 8:00-8:15 am and Child B was sleeping when Child A arrived. Child B woke up around 9.30 am for snack time. Shortly after snack, Child B made a choice to hit a friend in the class, so became Mr. Donaldson's helper for the day. Mr. Donaldson stated that Child A's o her arrived unannounced to get Child A around 12:00-12:30 PM. Ms. Garcia stated that Mr. Donaldson reported that Child A was in good spirits the entire day, never complained about anything hurting and was not walking abnormal. Ms. Garcia noted that she has cared for Child A on several different occasions and is a child that informs staff of any concerns has. Often times, ■ will tell on o er students or raise concerns that■ had a pain from falling down. It was Ms. Garcia's belief that if Child B had hands down Child A's stucki pants, Child A would have told Mr. Donaldson and Mr. Donaldson would have informed her and Ms. Marion of the incident. Ms. Garcia reported that Mr. Donaldson is going to but right now he is taking care of some I received a text from Ms. Garcia on 4/27/2021 indicating that Mr. Donaldson is still dealing with On 5/2/2021 Ms. Garcia informed me that Mr. Donaldson had a Due to these circumstances, I indicated I would wait for a while before rear ing out to him. I spoke with Child A's Mother on 06/07/2021, she indicated that on Child A . She felt that when she raised concerns about Mr. Donaldson being a male !Pbeing at the child care alone, her concerns were not addressed by Ms. Marion. I asked what concerns she had about Mr. Donaldson and she stated that she worried about leaving her with a grown man for 8-9 hours a day alone. Child A's Mother stated that on 4/16/21 she picked her up from child care early around 12:00-12:30 PM. Later that day she noticed Child was walking funny, so she asked why was walking like that. Child A told that Child B shoved hands down an s. She asked Child A if ■ told Mr. onaldson. Child A e sated did and he just told Child B to go lay down. Child A's Mother stated that shteh caaRe the center after learning this information around 4:00 PM and she got another child care staff member who told her to call Ms. Marion. She called Ms. Marion and then had a phone conference with Ms. Marion, Ms. Garcia, and Mr. Donaldson. She indicated frustration because Mr. Donaldson stated that Child A never told him anything about anyone harming■ that day. On 6/712021 1 spoke with Child B's Mother, Child C and Child D's Mother and left a message for Child E's Mother. Child B's Mother indicated that Child B has been attending the child care since- ..
