On 08/09/2022, I conducted an unannounced inspection at the center. I interviewed the Child Care Staff Members (CCSM) in the infant room. Ms. Alicia Newton and Ms. Nancy Burrell were informed of the allegations. Ms. Newton stated that the room consist of children ages 6 months to 15 months. They feed the children approximately 3 times per day, or on demand. After feeding the children, to assist with their food digesting, they will allow them to sit in the exersaucer, but not more than 30 minutes after each feeding. She denied putting children in cribs unless they are tired or sleeping. Ms. Nancy Burrell has been assisting in the infant room. She also stated that they only allow the children to sit in the excersaucer after they have been fed. She reported this helps to prevent them from throwing up later and it helps digest their food before they are allowed to crawl around and play afterwards. She also denied that they put children in cribs. She stated they only put them in cribs when they are sleepy or have fallen asleep. 2 On 08/09/2022, I interviewed CCSM, Ashley Stoliker. She works in the toddler room. She said she has seen the children in the infant room sitting in the exersaucer throughout the day. She was not aware of the length of time they were sitting in the exersaucer. I asked if it was possible that the children may have just been fed, and she stated that it was possible, but she does know it was more than one time per day. On 08/09/2022, asked CCSM, Ms. Alana Robinson works as a floater and has worked in each room at the center. She said that she was not aware of the children being left in the exersaucer for any length of time. At the time of my arrival at the center at 10:00 a.m., there were three infants present and all of them were on the floor crawling around and playing with toys. I spoke to Ms. Kristie Fagen, the Licensee Designee on 08/15/2022. I informed her of the allegations and discussed the findings. She was not aware of any concerns about the children being left in the exersaucer or any equipment for extended times. The complaint was made by an anonymous source, no additional information was provided. There were additional allegations about children not eating as often due to ratio issues. This was not addressed in this complaint, those allegations were address in the previous complaint, on 07/26/2022 (2022D0914017).
Children are placed in equipment and cribs for extended periods of time.
