Child A (3 years, male) is receiving behavioral reports that have increased significantly since moving up to the next age group room. Center is not considering extensive trauma that Child A has endured to where Child A does not meet the "normal" age group needs. Center continues to push potty training, although Child A is not developmentally ready and should not be pushed to be.

On 3/21/23, I conducted an interview with licensee/program director, Connie Marshall. Ms. Marshall reported partnering and working with Child A and using computer application to talk with Child A's parents. Application includes any incident reports or behaviors. Child A became bored in the Tikes Room (toddler room). Child A also works with Community Mental Health who comes to the center to help child care staff members and program director to understand Child A's trauma. Ms. Marshall hired a new preschool child care staff member trained in trauma for more support. Child A was moved up after showing signs of being ready. On 3/21/2022, I conducted an interview with child care staff member Ann Elyse Dion. Ms. Dion reported she has been a child care staff member in the preschool room for a few months and Child A is struggling with following structure and with his anger. "He's (Child A) struggling but had a really good day. Potty training is a challenge for Child A and he will "go in" his pull-up. When prompted, he will go but will not initiate. There are now three trauma-trained child care staff members in the preschool room. On 5/15/2023, I interviewed Child B and Child C's mother via telephone. Both children are finishing up their first year. "I don't have any concerns at all and the center staff takes really good care of my kids. I know they are safe." On 5/15/2023, I attempted to contact Child D's and Child E's mother. A voicemail message was left. On 5/15/2023, I conducted an interview with Child F's mother. She reported Child F had gone to four different facilities. Child care staff members are wonderful and have really good communication. "I never have questions and their response time is within 10 minutes. On 5/15/2023, I received a returned phone call from Child D's and Child E's mother. She has no concerns with Child D and Child E attending Little Red Wagon Daycare. "My kids are very safe." Her oldest child has been attending since he was 3 months of age.
