On 2/23/2022 I spoke with the RS. Ms. Valley and her assistant allow babies to cry for two to three hours at a time without picking them up. RS wanted to pick them up but Ms. Valley told her not to. The babies are left crying in the nap room and in the living room as well. On 3/9/2022 I spoke with Ms. Valley onsite. She denied talking negatively about parents and said she has a nice set of parents at her child care right now. Child A cries a great deal when he is put down. He only attends two days a week and there have been conversations with Child A's mother about how to handle him when he is constantly crying. Ms. Valley suspects the complaint was called in by a former child care staff member who was constantly wanting to hold Child A which is not prudent when there are 11 other children present who also need attention. Brittany Valley confirmed that Child A cries a great deal but when they put him down, they ensure he is safe, has a clean diaper, and does not need to be fed. They have to be able to manage caring for all the children and also get Child A used to not being held all the time. She has never heard Ms. Valley speak poorly about any of the parents at the child care. On 4/5/2022, I spoke with Child A and Child B's mother, Child C and Child D's mother, Child E and Child F's mother, and Child G and Child H's mother. None of the women had any concerns with how their child was being cared for while at Ms. Valley's home. None have ever heard Ms. Valley talking negatively about another 3 parent. None of the children have reported hearing anything like this to their parents either. Child A's mother reported he is no longer attending the child care because it was too difficult for Ms. Valley to care for her other children when Child A was constantly crying.
- Violation
There is no evidence that Ms. Valley speaks poorly about child care parents or that she fails to appropriately care for any child in her child care.
