R 400.1907 · R 400.1907 Child's records. (3) Dated daily attendance records of children in care must be maintained and include the child's first and last name and the time of arrival and departure. Electronic records may be used. If electronic records are used, they must be available to the department at the time of the inspection. If electronic attendance records are not available during an on-site inspection, the child care home is in violation of this rule.

On June 30, 2022, I received a complaint regarding the child care of Ms. Chelsea Blair. The complaint indicated that the child care provider was on vacation and the child care home would be closed until July 11, 2022. On July 12, 2022, I made an unannounced onsite inspection to the child care home of Ms. Chelsea Blair. I made Ms. Blair aware of the allegations in the complaint and asked to view her attendance records. Ms. Blair provided her child care records for 2022 to date. I viewed Ms. Blairs attendance sheets from January 2022 through July 2022. The attendance sheets contained the first and last names of the child care children, as well as the date and time of arrival and departure. At the time of the inspection there were four child care children signed in on the attendance sheet and there were four child care children present in the home. During the onsite inspection completed an exit conference went over the child care attendance records rule and explained to Ms. Blair that she was in full compliance with licensing requirements. I provided consultation to Ms. Blair suggesting that she contact the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services to assure she was in compliance with their attendance records requirements. 2 On July 12, 2022, I contacted the Jenny Brundage Child Care Licensing Consultant. Ms. Brundage stated that she completed the last interim on the child care home and there were no concerns noted in her report.
