The complainant stated she observed Green Garden's social media account for Facebook. The media account contained pictures of infants in a wading pool on site at the center; the complainant was concerned that the water was several inches deep. During the onsite inspection, I spoke with Samantha Ford. Ms. Ford stated the infants use a water activity item that shoots water up into the air during warm summer days at the child care. She stated the water does not collect in the bottom of the pool; therefore, it is not classified as a wading pool. Ms. Ford showed me the center's social media site, which has a picture of three infants that attend the center in the center's splash pad, and the infants were sitting in several inches of water. I advised her because several inches of water are accumulating with the infants sitting in it, this item may not be used at the center (see photo in file). The item was not in use during the onsite inspection; I took several photographs of the item (see photo in file). I observed warning labels on the item for drowning risk 2 and the need for direct supervision. I also observed the item has a label listing it as a splash pad (model number SA-HF068); which due to the accumulation of water meets the licensing rule definition of a private wading pool. Ms. Ford advised the center will no longer use the wading pool at the center.
