    Based on our findings, investigation, and review - which includes considering the investigation and findings of MDHHS -CCLB determines Lead Teacher is conducive to the welfare of children and is eligible to be associated with a child care organization.

    On 1/26/2026, Child A left the center unnoticed, without winter clothing. Thirteen minutes after Child A left, a witness notified the Grandville School District office staff that a child was walking down the sidewalk. About the same time ISP 1 realized Child A was not in the classroom. The temperature at the time of Child A’s elopement was 12 degrees. Child A suffered grade 1 frostbite, due to being in the elements for the extended period without proper winter gear.

    On 1/26/2026, Child A eloped from the center and was found off the premises. Program Administrator is also a lead teacher. She was unable to leave her classroom to address the issue and contact Child A’s parent. Due to the child behaviors in Program Administrator’s classroom as lead teacher, she is unable to administer the day to day operations including being available to address parent, child, and staff issues. She is unable to provide support to other classrooms when needed for child behaviors in Lead Teacher’s classroom or the other GSRP classrooms if/when needed.
