On April 28, 2023, and May 4, 2023, 1 spoke with Child A's Mother. Child A's Mother stated Child Care Staff Member 1 called and stated Child A and two other children were found in the calm down tent together. Child A and the other two children it was reported someone the tent. Child A's Mot er s a e no €Wie is has ever happened before and she is shocked. Child A's Mother stated she picked Child A up early on April 27, 2023, brought him home and discussed what happened. She also reminded him he needs to keep his clothes on to protect his body from the environment and other people. She asked him . , and he adamantly said it was not him that it was Chip Child A's Mother stated she asked him why he went to the calm down area and he said because he needed to calm down. He did not say who was in the tent first. She and Child A's Father asked Child A if anyone and if . He said no, but e did not say There was and Child Child a Child A and o him She mentioned this to Child Care Staff Member 1 and said she thought this was before Christmas and Child Care Staff Member I stated it was in January 2023. Someone from verbally reported both incidents to her, she never received anything in writing for either incident. On May 3, 2023, 1 completed an on-site inspection. I spoke with Child Care Staff Member 1. Child Care Staff Member 1 stated she did not see Child A, Child B, or Child C in the tent, but Child Care Staff Member 2 did tell her immediately. She heard Child Care Staff Member 2 tell Child A, Child B, and Child C it was time to come out of the tent and that . They told all the children on April 27, 2023, as they do every day the rules for the tent which are: 1. Only one child in the tent at a time; 2. The drapes must remain open; and 3. If a child is in the tent and another child needs the tent to calm down, then the first child's time in the tent is up. On April 27, 2023, she was working with children to retell the story of Stone Soup. She just finished working with Child A, Child B, and Child C. She saw Child A, Child B, and Child C near the construction/exploration areas which is not far from the tent and then she looked down and continued working. It was shortly after this (unsure how many minutes) when she then heard Child Care Staff Member 2 giving them the "remember" statement regarding 3 There was a speech pathologist in the classroom that day and she was helping another student and did not see anything that happened either. Child Care Staff Member 1 stated she spoke with the boys and Child B and Child C both stated that Child A Child A did not say anything. There was a . She took the immediately put it away. They encouraged them to play with different friends and assigned them to different work groups. There was a lot of communication between Child Care Staff Member 1 and Child Care Staff Member 2 regarding this safety plan and keeping everyone in the classroom safe. Child Care Staff Member 1 stated on thiOda hey did not maintain constant supervision and in hindsight she feels should have been placed in the classroom.
