Means of egress shall not be exposed to inherent hazards of the building, including the heating plant, flammable storage, c ommercial kitchen, or other similar conditions.

All child care centers shall, at a minimum, be equipped with approved single station smoke detectors covering all use areas and their means of egress. These smoke detectors shall be located and s paced according to NFPA(7)2.

Egress corridors lacked adequate smoke detector coverage as required by NFPA-72.
