R 400.1902 · ......................................................................................................... R 400.1902 Applicant; licensee; requirements. .............................................................. ............................................................................................................... (3) All persons, including minors, residing in the child care home shall meet all of the following requirements: (c) Act in the manner that is conducive to the welfare of children.
On 12/29/2022, I interviewed Child A and Child B's Mother by phone. The children have been enrolled at the child care home for almost a year. Three months ago, Child A informed her child care staff member, (CCSM) Laura Taylor hit him. Recently, Child A and B's Mother and their aunt arrived to pick up the children and Child A was crying. He stated that Ms. Taylor pinched him. A meeting was held between Child A and B's Mother and Ms. Taylor, and she denied Child A was ever hit or pinched by her. There were no bruises on Child A and she took her word. On 12/27/2022, the day of the incident, Child A and B's Mother dropped them off with two or three other child care children present. She stated that Child A and B's Father called her a few hours later to inform her of the situation. Child B was on FaceTime with her father when she asked Ms. Danise if she could charge Child A's video game. Child A asked Ms. Danise if she could please plug his game in the wall charger. Both children were calling Ms. Danise name and she would not answer them. Ms. Danise responded with harsh foul language. Child A and B's Father was still on the phone with Child B and Ms. Danise was not aware he was on FaceTime. Child A and B's Father said, "why is it so hard for you to answer them". Ms. Danise said, "I don't have fucking time to deal with that". He then asked why she is cursing at his kids. Child A and B's Father asked Ms. Danise what's so hard about charging a game. Ms. Danise said, "I don't have fucking time, they have to wait". Ms. Danise took Child B's phone and threw it into the wall cracking the phone. Child A and B's Mother stated she was off work that day, so it was faster for her to get to the children than their father. Around 11:45 AM, she arrived back at the child care home. The children were standing at the door crying with their coats but there was no planned pick-up time. She asked what was going on and began getting attacked by Ms. Taylor. She asked for Child A's game so they could leave and was told it was not there. Detroit Police were contacted. Child A's Mother said Ms. Taylor came towards Child A and B's Mother and "put her hands on her", so she swung back at her. Ms. Taylor then threw a pot of hot water with hot dogs in it at her and another pot with grease in it. Ms. Taylor went back in the kitchen and brought out a knife and came towards her and Child A and B's Aunt. There were other children present during the altercation. Ms. 3 Danise was holding a child while trying to fight them. They went outside to leave, and the police arrived and allowed Child B to return in the house to look for the game. Ms. Danise told them to look in the yard, but it was too much snow. They never retrieved Child A game, so she left with the children. On 12/29/2022, I interviewed Child B by phone. She stated that Child A was always coming home crying. He said that Ms. Taylor hit and pinched him. On the day in question, she stated that Ms. Danise took her phone while she was on a FaceTime call with her father. Ms. Danise went in the changing room and was cursing on the phone at her father. Ms. Danise brought her phone back and threw it at her, hitting the wall and cracking the screen. Child B stated that Ms. Danise told her and Child A to get their stuff because their father was coming to pick them up. She stated that Ms. Danise called her parents dusty and broke. Child A and B's Mother and Aunt arrived and asked what was going on. Child B stated that her aunt brought her dog with her. Ms. Danise grabbed Child A and B's Aunt by the arm. Ms. Danise was holding a Baby and her aunt said you need to put the baby down, that's someone else's baby. Child A and B's Mother took her coat off and asked for Child A's game. Child B informed me that Ms. Taylor threw hot water at Child A and B's Mother and aunt. Ms. Danise stated she did not have his game. Ms. Danise's son came to the house and said he was going to spit on Child A and B's Mother and Aunt. The police,
Child care staff member, (CCSM) Laura Taylor hit and pinched Child A (3-year-old male). Licensee, Danise Taylor, took Child B's (7-year-old female) phone and threw it at the wall. Ms. Taylor threw a pot of hot water at Child A's Mother while children were in care. Ms. Danise used foul and harsh language towards children.
