During the visit, the outdoor play area was free from hazards; however, the children were observed transitioning from the program to the outdoor play area through the back of the building. The children were viewed walking through an area with heavy machinery and compactors. The directors explained that the nursing home advised the childcare program to exit through the back of the building to eliminate some of the traffic in the front. The safety concerns were addressed with the nursing home facility immediately following the visit.
