Napping Materials
The licensor discussed with educator the need of posting a list detailing all dietary restrictions and emergency or lifesaving medications, such as epinephrine auto-injectors, inhalers, and anti-seizure medications, clearly indicating the corresponding child. Additionally, it was noted that this information should be covered to ensure the confidentiality of the child's identity. Upon reviewing children records one child is asthmatic.
The first aid kit was missing families contact emergency numbers.
The educator incorporated oral health practices into the program, discussed the regulatory requirements for oral hygiene. This includes storing toothbrushes separately to prevent contact, ensuring they are properly labeled, and allowing them to air dry. During the visit, all toothbrushes were stored together.
Educator had two playpens available and mats available for napping. Discussed children under the age of 18 months should have their own portable cribs or bassinets if needed. Older children can use mats or cots for napping. These napping materials must be kept clean and separate from each other. Napping materials were not stored separately.
