Violation
The educator had an infant sleeping face down on top of three mattresses in the pack-n-play; two softer mattresses were place on top of the original pack-n-play’s mattresses. We discussed the safe sleep policy and regulations. She did remove the two soft additional mattresses, and we discussed to acquire tight fitted sheets for the original pack-n-play’s mattress. I sent by email the first notice for the educator to complete and provide to the infant’s parent: SAFE SLEEP PARENT LETTER EEC First Citation of Non-Compliance Findings. In addition, the educator needs to retake the safe sleep training through strong start and sign the Child Care Provider Safe Sleep Pledge to Reduce the Risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS).
