Outdoor Space - R Apr 2025
The fence in the infant/toddler yard had one area that is a head entrapment and possible escape issue due to the fence being loose and able to stretch out. The slide in the preschool yard that is attached to the climber measured 12 inches from top of slide to bottom of the protective surface (it needs to measure 11 inches). There were three metal circles attached to the gate between the preschool and toddler play yard that could pose a risk to children.
Indoor Space
In classroom preschool A there was clutter in the corner of the room, on top of the fridge and cubbies, the fridge had spills inside it. The toddler room had a few areas of concern that need attention, a mat is torn and needs to be replaced, the cabinet in the classroom has old spills on it and the bottom of the cabinet has water stains on it and appears moldy, there were spaces between the wall and the floor that had dirt and old food in between the area. The licensor sent pictures to the director so the areas could be identified and shared. There was a cabinet that has a lot of debris and dirt caught under it.

At the time of the visit the preschool playground did not have enough mulch, there were seven inches of mulch at the time of the visit. There were issues with the swing structure at the time of the visit, there were two swings that were attached with fiber rope the public playground safety handbook states: Fiber ropes are not recommended as a means of suspending swings since they may degrade over time. There is also not enough coverage in front and behind the swings for fall zones, you need double the distance in the font and the back from the top of the pivot point to the ground, there is not enough room for that. The licensor measured at the time of the visit and to have the swing structure you would need 11 feet behind and in front of the swings. There is also a requirement to have two swings per bay but since there isn't enough ground coverage even taking two swings away would not meet the requirement. During the visit there was a little tikes slide that did not have a six-foot fall zone around it. There were also toys near climbers. All fall zones need to be clear of other materials so that if a child falls, they do not hurt themselves on something that should not be in the fall zone.
An educator did not wash their hands before preparing a bottle.
There was peeling and flaking paint in some of the classrooms.
