It was observed that the activity room was unorganized in a manner in which made it difficult for children to access materials, toys were stacked over each other and the toy bins had an over abundance of different materials that makes it challenging for the children to be able to pick appropriate materials. It was observed that there was access to baby wipes and upon arrival there was a dirty diaper set on top of the coffee table. There was access to plastic bags within the licensed space. During the visit the licensor discussed with the educator that the space felt extremely hot and asked to check the thermostat. The temperature was reading at 80 degrees F, licensor asked educator to bring down the temperature. Educator stated that the thermostat is not working properly. Room temperature in rooms occupied by children must be maintained at a minimum of 65°F. Educators must take appropriate measures to protect children from health risks associated with excessive heat. It was observed that one of the emergency exits was not accessible and safe for use. It was observed that the exit was blocked off and in process of reparations. After reviewing this with the FCC supervisor the educator was instructed to close her program at end of day, 2/27/25 and will not be able to reopen until exit is accessible and safe.
