Violation
Licensor observed that there was an (REDACTED) sleeping in a car seat. Educator indicated she had been rocking him in the car seat and (REDACTED) fell asleep. Educator indicated she had a pack and play setup for the (REDACTED), however the (REDACTED) was having a difficult time falling asleep in the pack and play and so the educator placed the (REDACTED) in the car seat. The educator indicated the parent stated this is how the (REDACTED) sleeps at home. Licensor discussed with the educator that it is her responsibility to follow and implement EEC's safe sleep policy and while we cannot regulate what is done at home, the educator needs to have a discussion with mom regarding the safe sleep policy and explain what the educator's responsibilities are as a licensed provider. The educator did immediately remove the (REDACTED) from the car seat and into the pack and play when licensor requested. Safe sleep parent letter will be emailed to the educator, safe sleep pledge will also be emailed, and educator will be given access to retake safe sleep strongstart training. A follow up FT visit will be conducted.
