At the time the injury occurred there were six staff members on the front playground, three staff members had their backs to the students, speaking with an individual on the top deck of the school. The injured student played on the edge of the closed sandbox for over a minute without redirection prior to the injury occurring. (REDACTED). All licensees and educators must exercise appropriate supervision of the children in their care in order to ensure their health and safety at all times. Such supervision must include, but not be limited to, indoor and outdoor activities. Educators must not engage in any other activities or tasks that could unnecessarily divert their attention from supervising the children.
