It was observed that the children were having difficult time regulating at different times during specific activities and transitions. It seems that educator needs to work on helping those children that have a more difficult time transitioning between activities and needs to work on guidance techniques to meet the needs of specific children that need more time, direction and guidance. It was observed that there were moments in which the educator was not directly supervising children and it was during these times that some children were observed having difficulty engaging with one another appropriately, including licensor observed children hitting one another. It was discussed with the educator that she must position herself at all times in a way that she is not only able to supervise all children directly but also be able to intervene quickly when needed to provide guidance. It was discussed that she needs to be able to supervise children when she is changing a diaper and also have all children within the same space and/or close proximity to the the space in which she is in with the children. During the virtual visit the licensor observed the pack and plays where two of the infants sleep. At time of visit one infant was napping (REDACTED) the other is (REDACTED), not napping at the time). The licensor observed that both pack and plays had a comforter in the pack and plays. Licensor reviewed with the educator the safe sleep practices and reviewed that only a fitted sheet should be utilized when infants under 12 months sleep. Educator was instructed to remove the comforters from the pack and plays. Educator indicate that because they were well fitted she thought that was okay based on the SIDS training. The licensor at that point reviewed thoroughly the safe sleep practices and indicated to the educator that she and her assistant will be required to retake the safe sleep training through stronstart and that it will be documented that they both take it in their primary language. The licensor also discussed the safe sleep pledge and the safe sleep parent letter; both of which will be emailed to the educator. The licensor also discussed the safe sleep in-person follow up visit.
