General: Based on review of documentation and interview, the center's discipline policy stated children, as do adults, will act inappropriately at times. Kids Kare Centers will endeavor to show disapproval for the act but not for the child. In light of this, all rules shall be simple, consistent, and made known to everyone involved in the operations of the center. Unacceptable behavior will be recognized, and an explanation given to the child. Short periods of inactivity (2 to 12 minutes) may be used to allow the child time to think and regroup, depending on the age of the child and the discretion of the classroom teacher. No more than one minute per year old the child is will be used. No child will ever be subjected to harsh or physical discipline or loud profane, threatening, frightening, and abusive language by anyone on the premises. Discipline shall never be associated with rest period, toilet training or food.
