General: Based on observation, interview and review of documentation, the surveyor visited the provider on two (2) occasions prior to survey on 05/14/26 and was unable to complete the renewal inspection. On 04/30/26, the surveyor arrived at the provider's residence at 10:50 am and received no answer when knocking at the door. The surveyor contacted the provider by telephone and was told that none of the daytime children in care needed care this day and the provider had gone shopping. The provider confirmed she had placed before-school children on the bus and would be getting after-school children off the bus later in the day. On 05/05/26, the surveyor arrived at the provider's residence at 11:40 am and the provider was not home, though her assistant was and had children in her care. However, the surveyor was told the center was "closed for cleaning" and the renewal inspection could not be completed. On both occasions, the closures were not reported until after the surveyor had left the property. The surveyor explained that each closure, including temporary, must be reported to DRCC.
