Review of the Kentucky Applicant Registry and Employment Screening System (KARES) for the child care center did not list the staff member for this child care center. The KARES report did not contain information that a background check had been initiated for this child care center at the time of the inspection. Interview with the owner of the child care center revealed the staff member works at a different child care center she owns. General: Based on observation, a child left the preschool room and entered the Toddler II Room, out of the scope of vision of the staff member. The staff member in the Preschool Room did not acknowledge or appear to notice that the child had left the room. After one (1) minute, the child walked to the doorway of the room, then retreated back into the room out of the scope of vision of the staff member again. The staff member then walked to the room and retrieved the child, bringing him/her back to the preschool room with the other children. Interview with the staff member verified the child was a preschool age child.
